Season Two - Episode Nine
Welcome to Creepy Cove Community Church, the friendly congregation on the windswept peak overlooking the notorious fishing town of Creepy Cove. This podcast episode features one of our full church services, with a talk, music, special guests, and more.
Our church administrator starts the service by introducing our topic 'Is God Male?' then he's happily interrupted by a couple of wee ankle biters from the congregation, Veronica and Malcolm. But what special powers do they possess?
Next, he explains all about the awful toilet incident in the last service. Sincere apologies to all involved. Then it's all excitement as Rupert engages in a Zoom Video Call all the way from Earth to space...for he interviews his beloved neice, Ellen Ripley, who is working on board the Nostromo at present, and is soon to be home. But will her news be happy or horrid? Tune in to find out.
After a brief Bible reading, it's over to our guest Clare Cockerill who looks into the most intriguing question: 'Is God Male?' Then, after a time of meditation, it's over to our church band, for this week's Horror Hymn. This one's called 'Blender' and looks at how horror movies have sometimes been both forward thinking (and backward) when it comes to gender stereotypes.
Finally, Rupert comes to Peter with his phone on speaker...for he has managed to contact the filthy, evil Xenemorph who invaded the Nostromo. But why is he so dang sweet and friendly?
All that is left is to wrap up the service and that's that. Thanks again for coming to our wonderful church on the peak!
